Jo has been something of a stranger to the studio since recording her ‘People We Become’ album in Nashville (but that is changing as she is starting to write her third album) but this is a very intimate take on the AWB song, ‘Cloudy’, recorded by her ‘go-to’ man in England, the multi award winning producer, James McMillan. V2 will be releasing the track in the Netherlands. Writer Hamish Stuart took to social media to proclaim ‘when Jo sings it, I believe her!‘.

For her part, Jo remarks ‘Average White Band were one of my late Fathers favourite bands but I really got to learn about this song when I heard Hamish Stuart (former AWB frontman) sing it at a Festival I was at a few years back. I love the changes and the words resonated with me too, of course. If I don’t ‘feel’ the lyric, I’d never sing it. Hamish’s version and AWB’s version are great, of course, but no point in simply copying what they do. So I tried to take it somewhere of my own.‘

Jo is in the process of writing new music right now and is also touring soon, check out her website for more information…
