Bonkers? Yes… For Conkers!

13th September 2017
Big I Am

The friendly folk at Langham Brewery are reaching out to all serious sports men, women, families, children (and their dogs) to their annual daredevil contest of skill and danger!

Lesley co-owner of the brewery: “We’re thrilled to be bringing this annual event to the local community for the 10th time! It’s always lots of fun, with fantastic food, wonderful friendly people and of course, tasty award winning ale to try”.

Their much-loved, well-supported annual conker competition began life in 2007; this year marks the event’s 10th birthday. The ‘Bonkers for Conkers BIG 10th Birthday Bash’ takes place at the brewery – a beautiful barn on the Cowdray Estate – on Sunday 8th October.

It’s free to come along, but please give generously, as they’ll be collecting for Chestnut Tree House Hospice Care Sussex.

There will be 2 competitions to find the junior (8 to 15 years) and senior conker champions of 2017.
World championship rules apply… and all conkers are provided by the organisers (so no cheating!). This is serious (& very fun) stuff! £2.50 to play.
Also, new for 2017 – the ‘biggest conker’ competition. Can you find the biggest conker in Sussex? Bring your conkers along and enter for £1.
All proceeds to Chestnut Tree House.

Players can register to play conkers online via the brewery site www.langhambrewery.co.uk or on the day itself.

There will also be (of course!) an excellent bar with 13 award winning Langham ales available, plus a wonderful homemade BBQ, plus cakes and teas.

Also expect mini steam engine rides around the brewery yard, face painting, live music, corn-dolly making, cake decorating, plus loads of lovely local craft stalls… and more.

So… who will win the coveted Langham Cup or get their name on the treasured junior trophy shield?

Good luck!
