Southdowns Folk Festival 2018 – A Terrific Success

25th September 2018
Big I Am

Did the festival allow a drop of rain dampen their spirits? Not at all!

A message from the festival chairman:

A thank you ~

To all the incredible musicians for their wonderful shows and workshops, to all the dancers in their various, colourful, talented forms, to all the fabulous choirs, to the market traders, to all the venues, all the behind the scenes staff and volunteers, the production teams – who worked tirelessly to ensure the (very) smooth running of the festival – and, perhaps most importantly, to the festival goers for enjoying all the events on offer over the festival weekend.

Highlights include a record turn out for the Appalachian dance workshop on Saturday afternoon with Crooked Moon Appalachian. This was a whole lot of fun, for beginners and pros alike. Special mention also goes to the Ukulele Spectacular, with full-house events at the Regis Centre on Sunday afternoon (huge thanks to #PeteBrown & Locum, The Pebble Beach Band & Qukulele for sharing their fabulous talents).

But, there really were too many wonderful events and happenings to mention individually here. Suffice to say, a very big thank you to all involved in making the 2018 festival a hugely popular and well-loved event.

All the very best,

Roger Nash – Chairman Southdowns Folk Festival
