The Achievers nominated for the 2019 UK Blues Challenge
The Achievers, who are playing at The Great British Rhythm & Blues festival this summer, have been nominated for the UK Blues Federation 2019 UK Blues Challenge, where five bands will compete for a chance to be invited to represent the UK at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2020 and the European Blues Challenge in Zaandam in the Netherlands in April 2020.
The Achievers are a fantastic band that create the energy and magic of 50s & 60s rhythm & blues dance halls with their original and soulful songs. You can catch them at Colne festival at the Mini Muni on Saturday 24th August, 4:30pm. Expect four-part harmonies, joyful melodies and infectious, danceable rhythms. And they’re in good company with Ash Wilson and The Crossfire Blues Band who were also nominated to play the 2019 UK Blues Challenge, and are also playing at The Great British Rhythm & Blues festival this year.
Plus one of the festival’s Jessica Foxley Stages acts – The Ashley Sherlock Band, Charli White, Little Triggers or Ronnie Cook & Friends, will be chosen to play the UK Blues Challenge following the event.
